The History of Dream Masters
BULGARIA — WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The Dream Masters story began in Bulgaria, where Svetlyo first entered the world of tattooing and began developing his craft.
These early years were dedicated to drawing, experimentation, technique, and the pursuit of a deeper understanding of tattoo art. What began as a personal passion gradually became a lifelong commitment to mastering the profession.
SWEDEN — DREAM MASTERS IS BORN
The journey continued in Sweden, where Dream Masters was officially established in 2006.
This marked the transition from an individual artistic pursuit into a professional studio and a clear philosophy: continually improve the artwork, the technique, and the experience of being tattooed.
Sweden opened the door to the wider European tattoo community through new artists, styles, conventions, competitions, collaborations, and international recognition. Dream Masters had become more than an idea. It had become a name.
UNITED STATES — THE NEXT CHAPTER
The next chapter required another major move — across the Atlantic to the United States.
Dream Masters brought its experience, philosophy, and international perspective to America, beginning another period of growth and reinvention.
SAN FRANCISCO — A NEW HOME
In 2010, Dream Masters opened its doors in San Francisco, beginning a new chapter in the studio’s international journey.
Over the years, thousands of clients walked through its doors. Artists joined the team, apprentices learned the craft, friendships were formed, styles evolved, and international awards and recognition became part of the studio’s history.
What began in Bulgaria and took shape in Sweden had now found a new home in San Francisco — a city that would become an essential part of the Dream Masters identity.
MORE THAN A TATTOO STUDIO
Throughout its history, Dream Masters continued to expand beyond traditional tattooing.
The studio explored education, apprenticeships, art, media, competitions, new techniques, and new approaches to the tattoo experience. Each endeavor — successful or challenging — contributed to the evolution of Dream Masters and the philosophy behind it.
